one week since launching outpost 420 and i've been stumped. soon after setup the existential question presented itself, and with surprising force: what the hell am i supposed to do with this thing? as i began pondering this ponderable, it occurred to me that a blog seems a polar mix between trifling frivolity and awesome responsibility. but with no audience yet cultivated and no raison d'etre yet established, i mostly spent week one on minor touch-ups and tweaks, avoiding the larger issue of what to dish out in terms of content.
but if this blog is going to survive and/or thrive, it's going to need some meat on the bones. and over the last week i found myself worrying -- with almost ridiculous intensity -- about what to say in here, and how to use this platform. should it be a political blog, a space to comment on the front-page news of the day? should it be a science blog, a venue in which to explore the cutting edge of human knowledge and discovery? should it be an artistic blog, a place to share lyrics and music and other creative endeavors from yours truly? should it be a diary, a way to convey thoughts and impressions and happenings big and small from my day-to-day existence? or should it be something else entirely?
after fretting over such questions for far too long, and with the help of some good advice from a good friend, i have come to an answer.
and it is yes.
